What is a BumperPad and why do I need one?
The BumperPad is an inexpensive solution to protect your vehicle’s plastic bumpers in a parking garage environment.
(a) A damaged bumper can significantly reduce the resale value of your vehicle, and result in extra charges at the end of your lease term.
(b) Repainting a damaged bumper can cost hundreds of dollars.
(c) Plastic bumpers can be easily scraped and torn when bumped into another vehicle or another stationary object i.e. a concrete wall.
Can I use the BumperPad when parallel parking?
Yes, you can use the BumperPad when parallel parking.
What material is the BumperPad made from?
The BumperPad is constructed of a soft, durable, high quality fabric.
Is the BumperPad water proof?
The bumper protector is not water proof, as such we do not recommend the bumperpad for outdoor use. However light water contact should not damage the car bumper pad. If the bumperpad gets wet squeeze out excess water and allow to air dry.
How do I attach the BumperPad?
Simply bend the end pieces so that they resemble a hook and attach it to the end of your vehicle's bumper. The BumperPad should fit firmly across the bumper. Can I drive my vehicle with the BumperPad attached?
We do not recommend driving your vehicle on the street with the BumperPad attached. The bumperpad was designed for indoor parking use, therefore, never drive with the bumperpad attached. The vehicle may be driven at low speeds, such as during parking manuevers.
Will the BumperPad protect me in a high speed collision?
No, the BumperPad is not designed to be a structural component that would significantly contribute to vehicle crashworthiness or occupant protection during front or rear collisions. It is not a safety feature intended to prevent or mitigate injury severity to occupants in automobiles. Bumperpads are designed to provide some added protection from scraps, scratches and minor dents that result during parking.
